As human resource managers, you deal with conflict every day — from personality conflicts between colleagues to disputes about performance, discipline, promotions, benefits and awards. Your ability to smoothly mediate and resolve workplace conflict proves vital to your success and plays a large part in how your peers perceive you. Through presentation and demonstration, and by using newly acquired skills during a simple workplace conflict roleplay, you will gain techniques to: • Confidently identify when mediation is needed • Clarify underlying interests of involved parties • Generate solution-oriented options • Create a climate for effective mediation that results in an agreeable resolution
John Ford, President of John Ford & Associates, works with individuals and organizations to approach conflict with greater clarity and confidence. He is managing editor for Mediate.com, past president of the Association for Dispute Resolution of Northern California and an instructor for John F. Kennedy University.Cancellations received less than seven calendar days from the program date are not refundable.
